Resume template

An engineering resume template recruiters actually finish reading.

Dense, monospace-accented, built around projects and stack. One page, no marketing filler — because hiring managers are reviewing 80 of these a day.

Why this template

Engineering resumes get a different kind of scan than general business resumes. Technical recruiters triage by stack-match first (does this person work in our language/framework?), then by scope signal (shipped production code? led a team? worked at scale?). Everything else is noise at the first-pass stage. The Technical template puts those signals where they land — keywords in skill clusters near the top, projects and experience bullets that read as outcome + tech-used.

Unlike generic resume builders, this template doesn't pad. No two-sentence "professional summary" about passion for innovation. No progress bars rating yourself 80% at Python. Instead: a skills section that groups by category (Languages / Infrastructure / Frameworks / Tools), so a recruiter scanning for "Rust + Kafka + Postgres" finds all three in one line. Projects get equal billing with experience because side projects, OSS contributions, and academic work are often the most signal-dense part of a junior-to-mid engineer's resume.

Bullet style matters. "Worked on the payments service" tells me nothing. "Rebuilt the idempotency layer for 14M daily retries, cutting duplicate charges from 3/qtr to 0" tells me you understand why your work mattered and what it was worth. The Technical template's tight leading and monospace date column is built to hold that kind of bullet — dense, quantified, specific.

Best for

  • Software engineers (backend, frontend, full-stack)
  • ML / data engineering / platform
  • DevOps / SRE / infrastructure
  • Technical roles at startups and scale-ups

Do

  • Group skills by category (Languages, Infra, Tools).
  • Every experience bullet: action + tech + outcome.
  • Link to projects: GitHub, deployed URLs.
  • Quantify — latency, throughput, uptime, team size, users.

Don't

  • No "objective". No "summary" longer than 2 sentences.
  • No skill-rating bars or star ratings.
  • No "team player" / "detail-oriented" filler.
  • Don't list every framework — list the ones you'd be comfortable being asked about.
